One of the great things about Phuket weather is that it’s pretty much always good and fairly predictable. It doesn’t matter what time of year you choose to go to Phuket, you’re always assured of great beach weather! As mentioned in our Phuket travel guide, there’s not too many places in the world you can say that about.

The brilliant Phuket weather is very consistent and mostly predictable. Temperatures in Phuket are almost always around 32 degrees (C) in the daytime and down to around 25 degrees (C) at night. There is a wet season in Phuket, but because it’s also very warm you really don’t care about getting wet. It’s usually wettest between about September and Christmas, but you might see storms and showers anytime between April and November.

If Koh Samui or Koh Phangan is also on your trip agenda, it’s helpful to know that although close to Phuket, it’s weather is definitely not the same. When it’s raining in Phuket, you can almost bet it’ll be dry on Ko Samui. We took the chance and went to Koh Samui recently in the peak of the wet season, which we blogged about in our Koh Samui travel guide. We spent most of that holiday on the beach, or riding a scooter around the island, and only got drenched once.

Try to choose accommodation that’s up on the hill away from the beach because it will get great sea breezes that’ll keep you cool at night without needing air conditioning. We stay at Samui Reef View Resort, which is run by an Australian and is high on a hill above Chaweng Beach.

Koh Phangan weather is usually about the same as Koh Samui weather, so just check our Koh Samui travel guide if you’re heading for Koh Phangan or Koh Samui.
